3 Injured As DWI Driver Strikes Utility Pole In South Jersey: Police

A 31-year-old driver from Camden County was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto, reckless driving and child endangerment after striking a utility pole in Gloucester County, authorities said.

The driver and two children were seriously injured in the crash, according to Washington Township police.

Sean P. Asman, of Audubon, was driving east on Hurffville Grenloch Road in Washington Township at about 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 when his 2008 Toyota Yaris left the roadway and struck the pole near Quay Park, police said.

Asman and his two juvenile passengers were taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
